On these 100 degrees + days, a good temperature setting is 75 to 78 degrees depending on your comfort level.

If your system is sized properly for your home, it is designed to achieve a 30-degree temperature difference at 105 outside temperature. For example, 105 degrees outside, 75 degrees inside. As the outside temperature exceeds 105, your inside temperature increases accordingly, for example, 110 degrees outside, 80 degrees inside and so on. Although your system may bring the inside temperature down lower than this, it is not recommended as it could be a health risk.

So, if it is 110 degrees outside and your A/C system will only go down to 80 degrees, don’t panic, it is doing its job and you should still be comfortable.

When searching for HVAC Installation Services in Pittsburgh, it’s important to find a company with experience in the region's specific climate challenges. A skilled technician will understand the need for a heating system that can handle freezing temperatures and a cooling system that can tackle the summer heat. This ensures that your HVAC system performs efficiently and lasts longer.

Setting your air conditioning between 75 and 78 degrees on extremely hot days keeps your home comfortable without overworking your system. Properly sized AC units handle temperature efficiently, ensuring safety and energy savings while maintaining a cool indoor environment.
